CM inaugurates sub-zonal office, water project in city
Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday inaugurated a sub-zonal office in the Bodakdev area of the city and also a water distribution network in Ghatlodia, apart from laying the foundation stones of offices of the revenue and food and civil supplies departments in Ahmedabad.An official statement said the new administrative centre — named after late Bansibhai Pranlal Patel — will provide ease for citizens in the western zone area. With the operation of this modern sub-zonal office, residents of Bodakdev and surrounding areas will no longer need to travel to the main zonal office for municipal corporation-related tasks, the statement added.
The building is equipped with advanced infrastructure facilities for tax collection, a civic centre, and various administrative services. Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, municipal commissioner Banchha Nidhi Pani, local legislators, and others were present on the occasion. Patel also inaugurated a water distribution station in the Ghatlodia area of the city. About 1.25 lakh residents of the area will receive water with adequate pressure as a result, the official statement said. With an underground tank capacity of 250 lakh litres and an overhead tank capacity of 25 litres, the project was completed at a cost of Rs 55 crore and will be beneficial for people residing in the areas of Ghatlodia Bridge to Pawapuri Crossroads, Laxmangadh Crossroads, Sattadhar Crossroads, and Bhuyangdev Crossroads, as well as Ghatlodia village, Karmacharinagar, CP Nagar, Arjun Tower, and Sanskrit Flats.
