Gandhinagar: Autorickshaw driver intrudes into CM Bhupendra Patel’s convoy, booked

Infocity police of Gandhinagar on Sunday booked an autorickshaw driver from Noblenagar in Ahmedabad city for rash driving as he allegedly intruded into chief minister Bhupendra Patel’s convoy near Bhaijipura Circle in Koba.

AHMEDABAD: Infocity police of Gandhinagar on Sunday booked an autorickshaw driver from Noblenagar in Ahmedabad city for rash driving as he allegedly intruded into chief minister Bhupendra Patel’s convoy near Bhaijipura Circle in Koba.
According to a head constable of Infocity police, Dashrath Dodia, he along with other cops were regulating traffic for the CM’s convoy near Bhaijipura Circle when the incident took place.

Dodia said in the complaint that CM was moving from Ahmedabad to his residence in Gandhinagar at around 8.30pm on Sunday.
When the convoy moved around 100 metres from the place, the rickshaw driver, Ashish Yadav, began driving towards the convoy. Even as the police personnel tried to stop him, he continued to drive. Later, the police personnel chased him in their vehicles and stopped him, claimed Dodia in the FIR. Police booked him for rash driving under the IPC along with the charges of the Motor Vehicles Act.
