Ahmedabad: DySP alleges illegal occupation of his Chandkheda flat by 3 women
Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad: A deputy superintendent of police posted in Amreli on Thursday filed a complaint with Chandkheda police alleging that three women illegally occupied his flat in Chandkheda for over six years despite repeated requests to vacate the premises.
According to the FIR, Ashoksinh Gohil, currently serving as DySP at Amreli headquarters, had purchased a flat in Sakal Residency near New CG Road in Chandkheda in March 2020 for Rs 40 lakh, including a home loan of Rs 30 lakh. Gohil stated that he and his family had earlier lived in the same flat on rent during his posting in Ahmedabad as a police inspector between 2012 and 2017.
Police said Gohil later bought the property from its previous owners, Pravinbhai Panchal and Madhuben Panchal. At the time of purchase, the flat was occupied by a family staying there temporarily.
According to the complaint, after execution of the sale deed, the occupants allegedly sought permission to continue staying in the flat till April 2020 as their daughters were studying in a nearby school. Gohil claimed he allowed them to stay on humanitarian grounds without charging any rent.
However, the Covid-19 lockdown and his postings outside Ahmedabad delayed his attempts to regain possession of the flat. The officer alleged that despite repeated requests over the years, the occupants refused to vacate and allegedly threatened relatives sent for negotiations with false molestation complaints.
Police said the accused neither entered into any rent agreement nor paid rent for occupying the flat since April 2020.
According to the FIR, the current market value of the flat is estimated at Rs 95 lakh. Gohil further alleged that the prolonged occupation affected his sons’ education as the family had to stay in rented accommodation elsewhere.
Police said the complainant approached the collector’s office under the Gujarat Land Grabbing Act, following which directions were issued to register a criminal case.
Chandkheda police have registered a case against the three accused under provisions of the Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act and initiated further investigation.
