Tension prevails in Aligarh's DS College over Hindu girl talking to Muslim

Though Jaudan claimed that she wasn't aware of the issue that triggered an angry reaction from Gaur, controversial Aligarh mayor Shakuntala Bharti claimed it to be a case of "love jihad".
She said the college is becoming an “Ishq Ka adda” (love joint) and warned students not to turn the city into another Lakhimpur. She said love jihad would not be tolerated here and if administration will not do anything to stop it, the BJP would be forced to take things in hand and set them right. She also claimed that all these people would be dealt with after March 11.
Gaur told TOI that Mukeen passed some objectionable comment about his religion as he wearing a “mala” around his neck. “When I asked him why had made the remark, he mocked at me and an altercation ensued", he said.
When contacted, chief proctor of DS College, PK Sharma, said he had informed the police in writing and urged them to probe the matter. He said as per information given by students, the altercation was sparked of due the fact that a hindu girl was chatting to a muslim boy.
Talking to media, Amit Kumar, Circle Officer (II), Aligarh said the students fought over some issue, which is being inquired into. He said they are in the process of procuring CCTV footage and action would be taken against whosoever is at fault. He however denied the matter pertained to so called “love Jihad”.

, a final year student of MA, DS College, told media that she was standing with Mohd Mukeen when LLB 2nd year student, Mohit Gaur, approached him and asked his name.
