Agra: A 14-year-old boy died after his neck was cut by a protruding tin shed while he was leaning out of a moving bus carrying wedding guests in Ramgarh, Firozabad, around 4 pm on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred on Akashvani Road when the bus was navigating a narrow stretch.
The accident cast a pall over the wedding celebrations.
The victim, Mohammad Kaif of Kaudiyaganj in Aligarh, had accompanied his father, Rahat Khan, to attend a neighbour's wedding. According to police, the bus was being driven recklessly when Kaif leaned out of the left-side window. As the vehicle passed a roadside shop, a sharp tin shed struck his neck, causing fatal injuries. He died on the spot.
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Police from Ramgarh station reached the site and seized the bus.
Ramgarh SHO Sanjeev Dubey said a case under BNS Section 106 (death caused by negligent driving) has been registered against the absconding driver. The body was handed over to the family on Thursday after the postmortem.
