Stone pelting in front of thana after boy’s death in road accident, policemen hurt
Agra: Tension gripped Mursan town in Hathras district on Sunday evening after an angry mob resorted to stone pelting in front of the local thana following the death of a two-and-a-half-year-old child in a road accident around 3:30pm. The SHO and a constable were injured in the violence, and property at the police station was damaged.Police said hours after the child, son of a local resident, was killed when a car hit him in Madhaiya locality of Mursan. He was playing outside his house when the speeding car ran over him, leaving him critically injured.The child succumbed to his injuries on the way to a higher medical facility in Aligarh.Following his death, grief and anger spread among family members and locals. A large number of relatives gathered at Mursan police station, demanding the accused to be handed over to them. After the body arrived, protesters blocked Mathura-Bareilly road in front of the thana.Despite police action, including the arrest of the car driver and seizure of the vehicle around 7:30pm, the situation escalated.SP Hathras, Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, said, "Miscreants involved in the stone pelting are being identified and will be arrested.
