Man kills younger brother in Mathura village; case filed
Agra: A 35-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his elder brother following a domestic dispute in Saunkh area of Mathura district late Tuesday night, police said.The incident took place in Ahamal village under Magorra police station limits. Meghshyam Singh allegedly attacked his younger brother, Niranjan Singh alias Nahna, with a sharp-edged gandasa (cleaver), resulting in his immediate death. He later fled with his wife, Durgesh.Police said the wives of the two brothers are sisters, and the family had been involved in a dispute for the past one-and-a-half years. Tensions escalated on Tuesday night when Niranjan returned home and was having dinner. His sister-in-law allegedly shone a torch on his face and accused him of casting an inappropriate gaze at her, triggering a heated argument.The altercation soon turned violent, with Meghshyam allegedly attacking Niranjan with the gandasa. The victim suffered grievous injuries to his neck, ear and hands. The attack also injured their mother, Longa Devi, who attempted to intervene.Locals rushed to the house upon hearing the commotion, but the accused had already locked the room and fled.Police have sent the body for postmortem. A case has been registered against the accused couple under BNS section 103 (murder). "Efforts are underway to trace and arrest both accused at the earliest," DSP Anil Kumar Singh said.
