Man kills 29yo friend over Rs 34k in Agra, held
Agra: A man was arrested for allegedly strangling his 29-year-old friend to death over a Rs 34,000 dispute and dumping the body under the Khari river bridge on the Gwalior highway, police said on Monday.Rahul Singh, a carpenter from the Ekta police station area in Agra district, was allegedly lured out of his home on Feb 3 on the pretext of attending a wedding and strangled to death by his friend Deepak Kumar (31) and two of his accomplices. His body was found the next morning.A case was registered at Iradat Nagar police station on a complaint by Rahul's brother Sachin under BNS Section 103(1) (murder).Police said Rahul had accompanied Deepak, also a carpenter who worked with the former, to attend a wedding function. After committing the crime, Deepak, Ravindra and Sunny went missing, raising suspicion. Acting on leads, police arrested Deepak late Sunday night and sent him to jail.During interrogation, Deepak confessed that Ravindra owed Rahul Rs 34,000. As Rahul started repeatedly demanding the money, Ravindra got annoyed. He, along with Deepak and Sunny, hatched a plot to eliminate Rahul. The accused strangled him to death and dumped the body under the bridge to make it appear as an accident.Shamshabad ACP Ameesha said efforts are on to arrest the remaining accused.
