Meerut: A 25-year-old man was arrested and sent to judicial custody in Bulandshahr for allegedly killing a 64-year-old salon owner following a dispute, police said on Friday.
The accused, Sohail Khan, worked as a painter at the under-construction house of the deceased, Mohd Shameem Ahmed. The blood-soaked body of Ahmed was found on Wednesday at the site.
SP (city) Shanker Prasad said the accused smashed the victim's head with bricks and a stone grinder. "During questioning, Khan allegedly confessed that Ahmed had asked him to stay the night, and the two later went to the under-construction house where they consumed alcohol. A dispute broke out after the victim allegedly pressured the accused for sexual favours, following which Khan attacked him in a fit of rage, killing him on the spot," the SP said.
