‘I’m tired of pretending to be ok’: PCS aspirant found hanging in Hathras
Agra: A 27-year-old Provincial Civil Service (PCS) aspirant was found hanging at his residence in Hathras on Tuesday evening. Before taking the extreme step, the man wrote an emotional message on his hand, stating that he was struggling with mental health issues, police said on Wednesday."Believe me, I am not happy with my life anymore. Now I am tired of pretending to be okay. Struggling with mental health has made me weak, very weak. So I am consciously taking the decision to end my life," the man, son of a CISF jawan, wrote.Police said he was alone at home at the time of the incident, as his family members had gone to Mathura for some work. When they returned and found him hanging in his room, they alerted the police. "We broke open the door, sent the body for post-mortem examination, and later handed it over to the family," said Sadar Kotwali SHO Satendra Singh Raghav.A family member said the aspirant had completed his BTech degree and worked with a private firm for nearly two years before quitting his job to prepare for the PCS examination. He had been battling depression for some time, the family said.
