Agra: A 45-year-old transporter from Delhi was killed and three others, including his son, suffered minor injuries after their car collided head-on with another car on the Agra-Aligarh national highway bypass near Kumarpur village under Chandpa police station in Hathras on Sunday afternoon. Maniram's family said he was travelling to Hathras to distribute wedding invitations for his daughter's wedding scheduled next month.Maniram, a resident of Azad Nagar in Delhi, was with his son, Tarun Kumar, 25, and two relatives when their car, driven by Tarun, collided with a car coming from the Sadabad side. Police said the impact was so severe that their car overturned, killing Maniram on the spot. His body has been sent for postmortem.The injured were taken to the district hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. . "We had come from Delhi to invite relatives for my sister's wedding scheduled for Feb 21, but this unfortunate incident occurred," Tarun said. Chandpa SHO Shyamveer Singh said, "A case has been registered under section 281 (rash or negligent driving) of BNS against the other vehicle's driver, who fled the scene. The vehicle has been seized and an investigation is underway."
