Agra: A Class X student of DPS Agra suffered multiple injuries after he was allegedly attacked by his classmate on the school campus after a verbal spat, police said on Tuesday. According to the boy’s father, the classmate punched his son wearing a metal knuckle and the latter suffered “fractured jaw and lost three teeth along with acute blood loss”.Agra DM Manish Bansal has ordered an administrative inquiry committee comprising Sadar SDM and other officials to probe the matter and also initiate the process to immediately obtain CCTV footage from the school.Confirming the development, Agra city DCP Sayed Ali Abbas said, “A general diary entry of the matter has been recorded and details have been sent to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for legal process. Further action, like FIR, if necessary, will be registered as per the JJB’s direction as both are minor.”A police officer added that the incident took place at DPS in Agra’s Shastripuram area under Sikandra police limits on the morning of April 25. “Both are 15-year-olds of Class X, but in a different section. The victim was called by another student on some pretext on the second floor corridor, outside the classroom; however, what exactly led to the assault is unclear,” the officer said.Meanwhile, the injured student’s father, who runs a mobile showroom and is also active on social media platforms, said his son is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Agra and “he is unable to speak due to the severity of his injuries”.
“The attack has left a deep psychological impact on my son. He is afraid to even think about school. Doctors said he may be unable to eat properly for the next three months,” he added. In a video shared by the father, his son could be purportedly seen severely traumatised and spitting blood. DPS Agra authorities were unavailable to comment on the incident.
