AGRA: On Wednesday,
Agra police
raided an illegal liquor factory-cum-godown and seized Rs 50 lakh worth
Indian made foreign liquor
(
IMFL
) and hooch.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of Chatta circle officer Ritesh Kumar Singh at Nagla Bihari area of
Itmad-ud-daula
police jurisdiction.
Speaking to TOI, officer Ritesh Kumar Singh said, "We have recovered a mini truck full of IMFL along with 50 drums of hooch with each capacity of 250 liters and 5000 pouches of hooch. The factory from where the illegal liquor was seized is owned by Vijay Verma, Aruna and Girish, who together run liquor business in the city and supply it at various liquor stores.”
Police arrested Vijay Verma and booked him under Excise Act and IPC 420.
