Agar: Police removed 74 loudspeakers from mosques and reduced the volume at 40 others across Muzaffarnagar city for allegedly violating prescribed noise limits under Supreme Court guidelines, said SP (city) Satyanarayan Prajapat, adding that the action was carried out in Civil Lines, Nagar Kotwali and Khalapar areas during a two-day drive.Officials said several loudspeakers were being operated above permissible limits, particularly during prayer times. On Tuesday and Wednesday, police teams removed the devices and took them into custody, while ensuring sound levels at other locations were brought within norms.Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma urged residents and religious institutions to adhere to the prescribed limits, warning that violations would invite legal action. "Monitoring will continue," he said.
