4yo boy dies of electrocution at Anganwadi centre in M’nagar
Agra: A four-year-old boy died after being electrocuted at an Anganwadi centre located within a govt primary school campus in Nasirpur village of Muzaffarnagar district on Monday.
After the incident, family members of the deceased, Satyam Kumar, rushed to the local police station and staged a protest, alleging negligence and demanding strict action against those responsible.
Police said the child came into contact with an electric current passing through a pole installed inside the school premises when he went towards the area to use the washroom, resulting in his instant death.
Relatives alleged serious negligence on the part of the electricity department and the Anganwadi centre. Senior officials assured the family of a fair investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Phugana CO Yatendra Nagar said, “During inspection, it was found that an electric pole was installed inside the school premises. The child appears to have died after coming into contact with it.”
Senior officials, including the SDM, inspected the site. CO Nagar said, “Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family, a case has been registered under Section 105 of BNS against employees of the power department and the Anganwadi centre, and further investigation is underway.”
