3 killed in road accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

AGRA: Three persons, including a woman, were killed in a road accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
Residents of Ranjitpur Chilbila area of Pratapgarh district in UP, the victims were returning home from Gurgaon in a hatchback when the driver lost control while attempting to overtake a vehicle, subsequently hitting the rear of a standstill parked truck.
The victims were identified as Rajesh Kumar (40), his wife Bhawana Singh (36) and their friend Amit Gaud, who was on the steering wheel.
According to police, the accident occurred near 174 milestone of Talgram police jurisdiction, Kannauj district at around 6am.
Speaking to TOI, station house officer Dinesh Singh of Talgram said, “The impact of the accident was so severe that entire front of the hatchback was completely destroyed and three victims were killed inside it. The driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle and rammed into the truck.”
After the incident, Talgram and Tirwa police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. By the time this report was filed, the police were still waiting for victim’s relative to hand over the bodies.
On October 16, a Delhi woman was killed and four of her family members were injured at milestone 83 near Nagla Ramfal village of Karhal police jurisdiction of Mainpuri district when their hatchback hit a carcass of a Nilgai on the expressway.
October 15, in Agra, four people from Delhi were dead and five others were injured after their SUV hit in rear of a truck on Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
