AGARTALA: Tripura govt is exploring the possibility of jackfruit-based wine production, given the fruit’s abundance in the state, agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Tuesday, reports Biswendu Bhattacharjee.
“We are now cultivating avocados as experts believe Tripura has great potential in horticulture. We are emphasizing its importance and working to increase farmers' incomes,” he added. The department has received Rs 130 crore in funding to achieve horticultural self-sufficiency. The state aims to become self-sufficient in potato seed production by 2027-28, as per Nath’s statement.
