Tripura budget session from July 7

The first budget session of the 13th Tripura legislative assembly is scheduled to begin on July 7, speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen said here on Sunday. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) finalised the proposal of business to be transacted during the four-day session in a meeting on Saturday.

AGARTALA: The first budget session of the 13th Tripura legislative assembly is scheduled to begin on July 7, speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen said here on Sunday. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) finalised the proposal of business to be transacted during the four-day session in a meeting on Saturday.
Sen said on Day I, finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy will table his first full-fledged budget for the current financial year followed by the introduction of two bills – Tripura Goods and Service Tax Bill and Tripura Appropriation Bill, discussion on the budget proposal and question-answer session.

The speaker said the treasury bench proposed to hold a three-day budget session, which was objected to by opposition parties demanding a five-day session. However, after a detailed discussion on the volume of government business, it was unanimously decided to hold the session for four days, Sen said.
Soon after the formation of the government in March this year, the new dispensation had passed a vote on account of Rs 9,066.56 crore for managing government functioning for the first quarter besides the tabling of a supplementary grant of Rs 3,065.37 crore as per custom to adjust additional expenditure incurred in the last fiscal.
