PRTC must for Tripura govt jobs

Agartala: The council of ministers in Tripura on Tuesday made Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) mandatory for jobs in all state government departments, PSUs and government-aided organisations from now onwards. It was relaxed by the government led by former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in 2018 soon after coming to power.The BJP government in Tripura has been facing severe criticism from the opposition parties, who alleged that the relaxation of PRTC paved the way for a large number of unemployed youths from outside to grab government jobs in the state. The opposition Congress, CPM and Tipra Motha became united to restore the mandatory PRTC to secure the interests of local unemployed people.
