Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Rs 2 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives and Rs 50,000 for the injured in the recent floods. An interministerial central team is assessing the damage to secure additional assistance. The floods claimed at least 32 lives from August 19-24.

The flood toll in Tripura has risen to 28 following the drowning of two individuals in Sepahijala and Gomati districts. CM Manik Saha visited Chiranjit Dey's family, who died while rescuing others. The government is providing assistance to his family. Other victims are Bikash Bhowmik and Deep Sarkar.
