Many moods of Tolly’s queens of hearts

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">What could be a better way to spend an evening than to sip on a cold drink, listen to good music and looking at gorgeous women striding the ramp?<br />After the various clubs hosting the May Queen, it was Tolly’s turn on May 25. And even though it started a bit late, it was well worth the wait.<br />There were nine models participating, namely Sonali Saigal, Aswina, Kimberline, Ranu, Neha, Nidhi Kothari, Tritha Sinha and Ananya Gupta.<br />The show started off with Indian wear and it progressed on to more daring clothes. Zodiac, a dance troupe was there to entertain the guests while the judges, namely Debasree Roy, Arjun Chakrobarty and Ashok Vishwanathan tabulated the marks. <br />Says Tappu, one of the leading dancers of the troupe Zodiac, "We have performed at various places before like the Lakeland Country Club during the Coke V Popstars show. <br />But I’d say that this show was one of our best.� Tollygunge Club is known for its quality performances and the Zodiac guys certainly kept up to the demands.<br />One of the many designers for the evening was Ankur who designed casual wear for the evening.<br />Apart from Zodiac, there was also a "boy band", called the Pawnstars, who performed at the Club. <br />A fashion show is not just about beauty. It is also about talking well, and the contestants were duly tested for this ability. While some goofed up, others were smart to answer.<br />When asked what would they wish for if God came down on Earth and gave them one wish, Ashwina, an 18 year old girl said, " I would wish that prostitution would be abolished. I don’t like the way girls are taken advantage of." Way to go Ashwina!<br />Another participant, Tritha, who has just got into the fashion show circuit a few months back said, " I have come here to have fun. If I win, well and good, and if I don’t, I still have my share of fun." Tritha is a student of St. Xavier''s, studying Mass Communications.<br />Finally, it was time for the results.Preetha took the prize for the Best Smile and the best Personality, while Shonali won the Second Runners Up.<br />Kimberline won the 1st Runners up and the winner for the evening, the Tollygunge May Queen Crown was given to Ranu.<br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">caltimes@timesgroup.com</span> </div> </div>
