On his involvement with cricket: The Pakistan Cricket Board have offered me two positions, either coaching the youngsters or taking up the managerial position in the board. I have to make up my mind on that soon.
On the debate on foreign vs local coach: I've always been saying what Sunil Gavaskar has said. We can have local coaches and do a better job.
In the sub-continent , coaching is not about teaching the players but working with them and guiding them. They have to understand that today's players are stars and you have to give them space. Look how we performed at the recent World Cup! We are ashamed of our performance .
On Shoaib Akhtar: He has not been handled well by the Pakistan Cricket Board. They have been too polite to him. Had I been a member of the Board, I'd have been the last person to take him back in the team for his indiscipline . He also has fitness problems.
The present Pakistan team: We had to bring in a revolution. The Board has made a gamble. During the World Cup, no one could miss out on the fact that the team was not playing as a unit. So, there had to be a fresh approach towards team building. I also want to say that Inzamam-ul-Haq is no dictator as some of the players have accused him as. Players have misunderstood him. I know him personally; he is a simple guy.
Tablighi jamaat vs non tablighi jamaat: Religion teaches you all good things. How can it be a reason for the downfall of the team? What is the harm if after the game, players sit and discuss religion or do namaz?
