Kinetic sells 15,000 units of Velocity

NEW DELHI: Kinetic's entry into executive motorcycles has started off with a bang, with the sales of its motorcycle Velocity having zipped past the 15,000 unit mark in a 70-day period across the country.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">NEW DELHI: Kinetic''s entry into executive motorcycles has started off with a bang, with the sales of its motorcycle Velocity having zipped past the 15,000 unit mark in a 70-day period across the country.<br /><br />This has made Velocity one of the fastest growing motorcycles in the country. To celebrate this quick start, the company organised a special delivery where cricket star Kapil Dev handed over the key of Kinetic Velocity to Sunil Apte, the 1000th customer.<br /><br />Ajinkya Firodia, GM (marketing), Kinetic Engineering, said, "Our sales have exceeded our targets and expectations, even though we have introduced the motorcycle only in select states.
The company is now working on increasing production to bring down the delivery time to customer."<br /><br />Launched in October 2003, Velocity marked Kinetic''s entry into the executive bikes segment -- the largest category of two-wheelers in the country, accounting for over 60 per cent of the bike market.<br /><br />Velocity is powered by a 115cc four-stroke engine that develops 8.5 bhp power. It boasts of a mileage of 92 kmpl. The bike has complete instrumentation with a tachometer, throttle sensor with power & economy modes for riding guidance, a heat shield on the silencer, a pass light and a centralised handle lock.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
