Galaxy Health Insurance appoints G Srinivasan as MD & CEO
CHENNAI: Galaxy Health Insurance, jointly promoted by the TVS Group and V Jagannathan, founder of Star Health & Allied Insurance, has appointed the former chairman and managing director of the New India Assurance Company G Srinivasan as its MD & CEO.
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) granted licence to the standalone insurer in March this year, Galaxy Health Insurance said in a statement on Monday. The company said it would commence operations soon.
With four decades of experience in the insurance sector, Srinivasan held the leadership position in the United India Insurance. New India Assurance went public during his tenure. He was the chairman of the General Insurance Council and director of the National Insurance Academy, Pune.
Galaxy Health Insurance’s board currently also comprises cardiologist Sai Satish as the chairman and Sudarshan Venu, managing director, TVS Motor Company as the director.
