farmer leader
Shekhar Dixit on Wednesday said it was a “Sahukaarowaalaa Budget” (a budget for the traders). Shekhar who had recently joined the Congress endorsed the statement given by party vice-president
Rahul Gandhi, who had termed it as ‘sher-o-shaayri’ (poetic) budget. “We had thought that there would be fireworks in the Budget, but it eventually turned out to be a damp squib,” Shekhar said.
He also alleged that the farmers whose crops have been destroyed are yet to get their crop insurance. On giving additional loans to the famers, the farmer leader said that by giving additional burden of loans on the burdened farmers, the Centre has acted like a true trader (sahukaar). “It would had been better if the government had waived off the loans of the farmersm,” Dixit said.
