Britannia Q3 results to be out today; stay tuned
NEW DELHI:
In the quarter ended September 2019 (Q2), the company posted a 74% increase in net profit to Rs 492.58 crore owing to its premium product range and cost efficiency program.
While declaring the Q2 results, Managing Director Varun Berry said, "On the cost front, we witnessed moderate inflation in the prices of key raw materials for the bakery business while there was an inordinate increase in milk prices which impacted our dairy business. We accelerated the drive on cost efficiencies and leveraged fixed costs which helped us improve the shape of our business and deliver high operating profits in the quarter."
Also, for the future, Britannia had planned to scale up its salted snacks segment in the West and croissant business in East and South.
The shares of Britannia closed trade at Rs 3252.20 (NSE) on Thursday, February 06 and on Friday, February 07, the scrip opened at Rs. 3256 (NSE).
