BANGALORE: Canada-based Bombardier International is revamping its existing distribution network in India and will soon commence sales of its recreational vehicles, including the Sea-Doo watercraft and Outlander off-road vehicle.
Bombardier is also planning to expand its presence in the country by setting up a research centre to provide engineering services to the parent company for developing railway locomotives, Nalin Jain, manager, said.

Bombardier had recently terminated its sole dealer for the sports boats in India and is now planning to set up a new network for its entire range of recreational products over the next six months.
"We are bullish and aggressive. Our distribution network is being revamped to commence full-scale marketing of our recreational products. Bombardier International is also looking for ways to increase its procurement of goods and services from Indian suppliers."
Besides offering these products to recreation and sports complexes, the firm is also eyeing deals with coast guards and security forces in rough terrain areas with these vehicles.
As part of its plans to increase outsourcing from India, Bombardier plans to set up a locomotive research centre. "We intend to shift the engineering work for Bombardiers global locomotive business to India," Jain added.
