Ananya Birla hits a new note

Entrepreneur and musician Ananya Birla, who is also a director of Aditya Birla Group, wore a non-corporate hat at the ET Awards. She was co-host, and her short speech made the audience chuckle more than a few times.

“I see that everyone here is looking so beautiful, so elegant, just looking like a wow,” she said. The viral social media meme is rarely used to describe India Inc heavyweights. And that’s what made it charming. “I cannot believe that my dad used this phrase to describe the state of the Indian economy,” she joked as Kumar Birla, seated at one of the top tables, glowed with paternal pride.

She got more laughs with her take on India’s economy. “Already, here we are up and running, moving from Kaun Banega Crorepati to Kaun Banega $10-trillion economy.”
