Aishwaryaa Dhanush joins Sarva to drive Diva Yoga brand
Chennai: Yoga and wellness startup Sarva continues to add star power to its investor table as Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, film director, and daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, backs the company with an undisclosed amount. This is her first business investment and with this, she will also lead the growth of Sarva’s premium brand Diva Yoga in South India, alongside co-founders Malaika Arora and Sarvesh Shashi. Sarva has so far raised around $5 million from pop star Jennifer Lopez, Bollywood stars Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, American baseball star Alex Rodriguez, Pi Capital CEO David Giampaolo, and other global investors. Chennai’s first Diva Yoga studio, an experiential space for women to practise yoga, to be launched in the next 60 days, at almost 2,500 square feet area, is expected to be larger than the two existing studios in Mumbai. Aishwaryaa R Dhanush, told TOI that she has long been tracking the growth of Sarva, and was looking forward to play a hands-on role in growing the Diva Yoga concept in the South. “This is a new area I have stepped into, and I am excited to work with Malaika and Sarvesh, and hope to enhance Sarva and Diva Yoga’s presence in the South,” she said.
Sarva will hit 100 studios across India by next month, and has also partnered with OYO Townhouses to set up 500 studios by 2022. The startup is also set to go live with its digital offerings this quarter, and is confident of adding at least 5,00,000 users in the next six months.
