Bollywood actors who failed in their debut TV reality shows

It is rightly said that luck plays a vital role in making a star shine. Our Bollywood favorite celebrities might entertain the audiences on the big screen. But it is equally difficult to hold the small screen audiences' attention as well. There is a thin difference between these two audiences where on one side a celebrity draws the audiences to theatres to watch their movies while on the other hand, the same celebrity has to capture the audience on the small screen. Here we compile few such Bollywood celebrities who failed to grab eye balls on the small screen with their TV debut.

Shah Rukh Khan: SRK has his own crazy fan following. But it seems like he failed to maintain the same while he debuted on the small screen with reality shows. He has done three reality shows on TV till now. The first one was Kaun Banega Crorepati, where Sony TV experimented by replacing Amitabh Bachchan with SRK, however this trick failed. The next was Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? And the third and the last one was Zor Ka Jhatka which was a total wipe out. Unfortunately all the three shows didn't too.

Mallika Sherawat: Mallika Sherawat’s debut on the small screen with Life OK’s The Bachelorrette India-Mere Khayalon ki Mallika was launched with much fun-fair and pomp but failed to rule the TRP charts. Maybe Mallika, who is considered as Bollywood’s sexy-siren, was just too hot to handle for the small screen audience.

Govinda: In Bollywood, Govinda is synonymous with No. 1. During the late 90’s and early 2000, Bollywood celebrity debuting on small screens was a trend with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan appearing on TV with their respective reality shows. However, Chi-chi bhaiya’s debut show Jeeto Chappar Phaadke, didn’t do well. One of the reasons of its failure might be the non acceptance of a quiz show which was similar to KBC. Maybe people could not accept Govinda hosting a quiz show.

Abhishek Bachchan: Abhishek Bachchan’s debut on the small screen with Colors National Bingo Nights was equal to his Bollywood career. With no offense meant, the actor tried his best, but failed to attract audiences. The show’s concept was all good and engaging with the lay man winning cash prizes but some where the channel mistook the audiences’ taste.

Abhay Deol: Abhay Deol too failed to grab eye balls with Zee TV’s Connected Hum Tum. Despite his movie Raanjhana releasing during the show’s launch, it failed to connect with the audiences. In short the concept of get connected was ‘not connected’ .
