Birthday Wishes: Gautami Kapoor turns 40!

Born on June 21, 1974 in Maharastra as Gautami Gadgil, TV actress Gautami Kapoor turns a year older today. Wishing her a fabulous year ahead we tell you some interesting facts about the pretty woman.

Gautami started her working at the age of 16 as a model after which she shifted to acting in TV serials. She bagged UTV’s assignment which was supposed to mark her acting debut but the project never took off. Instead she was first seen on the small screen in the show ‘Alag Alag’ on DD metro. The actress became a household name courtesy her role in the Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’, where she also met her now husband actor Ram Kapoor.

Gautami and Ram Kapoor met and fell in love with each other on the show ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’. As they say opposites attract, and the couple went ahead to tie the knot on February 14, 2003 through Arya Samaj after some initial opposition from their families.

Few know that this is Gautami’s second marriage. She was earlier married to Madhur Shroff, a commercial photographer. But bygones are bygones, as Gautami and Ram Kapoor are now blessed with a daughter Sia and a son Aks.

Post her marriage to Ram Kapoor, Gautami took an eight years’ long sabbatical from her acting career to take care of her kids and family. She recently made a comeback on the small screen with the show ‘Tere Sheher Mein’, seven months after her last outing ‘Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi’ went off-air in just three months due to poor ratings.
