Bigg Boss 8: Farah Khan talks about Salman Khan and Halla Bol

Salman Khan might not be there for the Bigg Boss Halla Bol finale, this is something the fans of the show are already aware of. But according to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, the shoot of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is not the only reason why Salman left the show mid-way. The actual reason why Salman is out of the controversial reality show, according to the report, is because he was against the idea of extending Bigg Boss 8 and making it Bigg Boss Halla Bol. The report further states that he had requested the channel to declare a winner from Bigg Boss 8 and then introduce a new segment as a new show. Having no option at that point, Colors merged it with Bigg Boss 8 itself.

Farah Khan had promised that, as a host, she will be stern with the contestants and it seems that she was serious about the threat. In a Weekend ka Vaar episode, the choreographer-designer took Sambhavna Seth's case. The new host of the show was apparently upset with the manner in which the Challenger was treating the Shampion and had warned Sambhavna to correct her ways. She had reportedly warned Sambhavna to not irk Dimpy like she did last week. And though her statement was peppered with ample humour, the underlying warning was clear.

Farah Khan: Even if the PM replaces Salman, there would be comparisons

Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan, who has stepped into Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's shoes to host Bigg Boss Halla Bol feels that even if the Prime Minister of India replaced Salman Khan, comparisons would have been drawn between the two.

"There is no pressure on me because of many reasons. I am not competing with him, we are not of same gender and though we are from the same profession we are still different. He is an actor and I am a filmmaker. I know there will be comparisons. I feel that even if the Prime Minister of India replaced Salman Khan, comparisons would have been drawn between the two. Had it been an actor replacing Salman, toh uski toh band bajj jaati. But, I don't think there is any pressure on me," reasoned Farah.

Farah, who has been a huge fan of Bigg Boss, says hosting the series for her is like a kid visiting Disneyland. "It is an amazing feeling to host Bigg Boss. I have been a huge fan of the show and I am very excited to host it. I am like a kid visiting Disneyland and getting a chance to meet my favourite characters - Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. I used to have Bigg Boss parties and dinners as I am such a big fan of the show and I want to host the show in the same manner," says the Happy New Year director.

The director, who is close to the Khan family has been receiving support from Salman Khan's family and they are all excited to watch Farah host the show. "Salman's family has been very responsive. Sohail, Arbaaz, Alvira are all are very excited to watch me," said Farah. She also says she will be herself while hosting the show. "I don't have any strategy in mind. I will be myself - honest and frank. If I get angry, I won't hide it and would react as a member of the audience," she confessed.

When asked as to who was her favourite this season, Farah said, "Till the time, I didn't become a host, Gautam was my favourite and I think he has an upper-hand when compared to the other contestants. Gautam is vibrant and entertaining and I just loved watching him as an audience. From the new challengers, Rahul Mahajan and Sambhavna Seth are my favourite. I will have to ask Rahul if he's going to give body massages in this season too."

Farah also says that she doesn't like contestants who pretend to be saintly inside the house. "I like contestants who are entertaining and volatile in nature. The ones who don't pretend to be a saint and can say what is wrong and what is right," she reasons.

Farah doesn't agree that Salman was biased on the show, she instead feels that it is his human side, "I think that apart from being a host Salman is also a human being. The best part is that he's not cold or calculated when he shares his views. He may look biased but that is just human side of his. When you are doing a show like this, you are bound to have a favourite. Till the time you are not objective it is fine," says Farah.
