NEW DELHI: Sourav Kothari has been named the best player in the Billiards/Snooker category at the Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) 2019, powered by BHIM-UPI. The fourth edition of the TOISA was held in New Delhi on Thursday.
In 2019, Sourav won the prestigious Pacific International Snooker Championship - The Reventon Classic - defeating Tyson Crinis in Melbourne.
Reventon is one of three events that form the Reventon Triple Crown-- Classic, Masters and International in Australia.
Kothari ended as the runner-up at the 2019 World Billiards Championship (Long-up format) after losing to Peter Gilchrist who took sweet revenge for his 2018 World Championship final defeat.
