Tata Motors-owned British carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, has announced the prices of its upcoming performance SUV - the Jaguar F-Pace, starting from Rs 68.4 lakh. The vehicle would be launched on October 20. The top-end 'first edition' of the car has been priced at Rs 1.12 cr (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company informed that bookings for the car have commenced and added that it can be done online as well. JLR India president Rohit Suri said, "F-Pace is Jaguar's first performance SUV and is sure to capture hearts and minds of Jaguar fans and its distinguished and discerning customers spread across India."
The Jaguar F-Pace has been on an aluminium chassis that was earlier seen underpinning the Jaguar XE. Other weight-reduction technologies have also been adopted to lend more agility to the F-Pace.
The front fascia bears the signature Jaguar grille and a set of adaptive LED headlights. The rear, with full LED tail lights, further accentuates the design of the car.
On the inside, it gets premium upholstery along with a 25.91 cm (10.2-inch) tablet style touch-screen. Other notable features include an activity key and derived chassis technologies like Torque Vectoring and Adaptive Dynamics.
Under the hood, the Jaguar F-Pace will come with two engine options - the 2.0-litre Ingenium Diesel mill, which can produce up to 179.5PS of power and the 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 motor that is able to churn out 300.5PS of power and over 700Nm of torque.
The latest Jaguar in India will compete with the likes of the BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE class in this segment.
