An Australian customiser of Royal Enfield bikes, Carberry shifted its production to India last year and started developing this new 1,000cc engine to offer a more powerful option to the Royal Enfield fans. It took around four years to introduce the new version based on the RE's newer UCE engine. The bookings amount for the unique motorcycle is Rs 1 lakh and the deliveries are speculated to start after 5-6 months.

The 55-degree V-Twin is fueled with a dual carburettor setup, while the fuel injected version is expected to be introduced in near future. The current version has been claimed to deliver 53PS of power and 82Nm of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheel using a five-speed gearbox, seven-plate clutch assembly and a high strength chain drive.

The bike is based on a tweaked version of the

Royal Enfield Classic

's platform and the engine can't be purchased separately for other motorcycles. The chassis of the motorcycle has been strengthened for increased load and stresses and gets a double cradle design for that. Moreover, the bike also features a rear disc brake and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to stop the heavier version of the bike on right time.

The 1,000cc Royal Enfield is an option in the category of the

Triumph Bonneville

Street Twin or T100, and the

Harley-Davidson Iron 883

, which also comes with an almost similar price tags.
