Yamaha EC-06 vs Suzuki e-Access: Range, specs & prices compared
The electric scooter space in India has moved well beyond being a startup-only playground. Legacy two-wheeler manufacturers are now stepping in, and Suzuki and Yamaha are among the latest to do so. Suzuki recently entered the segment with the e-Access, while Yamaha has followed with the EC-06 electric scooter. Here’s a quick look at how these models compare in terms of battery size, performance and pricing.
Suzuki’s e-Access uses a 3.07 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and claims a range of up to 95 km on a full charge. Power comes from an electric motor producing around 5.5 hp and 15 Nm of torque, with a top speed of roughly 71 kmph. Suzuki offers multiple riding modes, including Eco and Ride modes. Charging is one of the e-Access’ highlights. Using a fast charger, the battery can be topped up from 0 to 80 percent in just over an hour, while a regular AC charger takes close to seven hours for a full charge.
Yamaha’s EC-06, on the other hand, comes equipped with a larger 4.0 kWh lithium-ion battery, which translates into a claimed IDC range of up to 169 km. The electric motor is significantly more powerful, producing about 9 hp and 26 Nm of torque, allowing the scooter to reach a top speed of around 79 kmph.
Yamaha offers multiple riding modes as well, including Eco, Standard and Power. Charging the EC-06 using a standard home charger takes around eight hours for a full charge.
When it comes to pricing, the Suzuki e-Access sits higher at Rs 1.88 lakh, ex-showroom, while Yamaha has positioned the EC-06 more aggressively, pricing it at around Rs 1.67 lakh, ex-showroom.
