Ultraviolette Tesseract coming soon: 261 km range e-scooter explained
Bengaluru-based EV maker Ultraviolette Automotive is gearing up to expand beyond premium motorcycles with the debut of its first electric scooter, the Ultraviolette Tesseract. First unveiled in 2025, the Tesseract is now edging closer to its market debut, with the production version expected to hit the market in Q2 2026. With the deliveries expected to begin soon, here’s a quick look at what the e-scooter has to offer.
The Tesseract was introduced at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh, ex-showroom. It can be pre-booked on the company’s official website for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Built on a new platform, the Tesseract is powered by an electric motor producing 20.1 bhp. Ultraviolette claims a maximum range of up to 261 km on a single charge, depending on the battery pack selected. Buyers will have three battery options to choose from: 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh and 6 kWh. Performance is expected to be one of its key highlights, with the scooter capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 125 kmph. The battery can also be charged from 0 to 80 percent in under an hour.
In terms of features, the Tesseract comes loaded with technology. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display with built-in navigation, along with dual dashcams at the front and rear. Other notable additions include wireless charging, haptic feedback on the handlebars, dual-channel ABS, traction control and hill hold assist. The scooter also features dynamic stability control.
One of the standout elements of the Tesseract is its radar-based advanced rider assistance system, a first for an electric scooter in India. This system enables features such as blind spot detection, overtake alerts, lane change assist and collision warnings, bringing a new level of safety tech to the segment.
The scooter offers 34 litres of under-seat storage, which is enough to fit a full-face helmet. It rides on 14-inch wheels and will be available in four colour options: Sonic Pink, Desert Sand, Solar White and Stealth Black. Ultraviolette is also offering a standard warranty of three years or 75,000 km, which can be extended up to eight years or 2,00,000 km.
Once launched, the Tesseract will compete with established electric scooters such as the TVS iQube, Simple One, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450, Vida V2 Pro and River Indie.
