Volvo C40 Recharge EV India debut tomorrow: Expected price, powertrain, features

Volvo India is all set to unveil the C40 Recharge EV in the Indian market tomorrow, i.e. - June 14, 2023. It will be the manufacturer’s second all-electric car in India. Ahead of its India debut, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Volvo C40 Recharge EV.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Features
Internationally, the Volvo C40 Recharge EV is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats.Other notable features will include a 13-speaker Harmon Kardon music system with a 600W digital amplifier, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an air purifier. In terms of exterior, the Volvo C40 Recharge EV will receive all-LED lighting.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Battery
Globally, the Volvo C40 Recharge is offered with AWD and RWD systems. However, Volvo India is yet to confirm the availability of both versions in the Indian market.
Powering the C40 Recharge EV is a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery and a single motor, producing a peak power of 232 hp and a max torque of 420 Nm. It has a top speed of 180 kmph. Another single-motor version is also available with an 82 kWh battery.

The Volvo C40 Recharge dual-motor variant uses an 82 kWh battery, generating 396 hp power and 670 Nm torque. The AWD variant does 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 180 kmph.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Range
The 69 kWh battery offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 460 km, while the 82 kWh battery offers a certified range of 515 km.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Safety features
The Volvo C40 Recharge is on sale in international markets and has been awarded with a 5-star rating in the 2022 Euro NCAP test. It is available with safety features, such as a 360-degree parking camera, blind spot detection, emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and cross-traffic alert.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Expected price
Currently, the Volvo XC40 Recharge EV retails at Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. The upcoming C40 Recharge EV is likely to be priced around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) in India when launched.
