Polestar recently announced that its O2 concept will soon be a production model, and to be known as the Polestar 6. Earlier unveiled this year, the O2 electric roadster concept was designed to showcase the carmaker’s in-house produced aluminium platform and its unique features like an integrated drone.
The company has announced that the Polestar 6 electric roadster will go into the production form in 2026.
Similar to the Precept, the Polestar O2 will feature sharp lines and signature lighting, reflecting the Polestar’s Volvo origin.
Featuring a wide and low stance as well as a compact cabin, Polestar is offering the
electric car with “classic sports car proportions” in its words.
Like the Polestar 5, the Polestar 6 will be based on the 800V architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging when using a DC fast charger. According to media reports, with a dual motor powertrain, the power output of the Polestar O2 electric roadster or Polestar 6 is 884 hp and torque is 900 Nm.
The electric roadster is capable of doing 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph, as per the company claims.
Interested customers can reserve their sport for the Polestar 6 on the official website from today. Moreover, the company is producing 500 numbered units of the ‘LA Concept’ roadster version that will be available in Sky Blue exterior theme, leather interior, 21-inch wheels of the original Polestar O2 Concept.
The Polestar 6 is expected to priced around 200,000 dollars, in the special model limited to 500 units.
