Top 10 selling cars in India in April 2022: Wagon R, New Ertiga, Nexon become big hits

Maruti Suzuki retained its position as the top-selling passenger vehicle manufacturer in the Indian market last month, and continued to dominate the top-10 list with seven cars. Here is a table showing the 10 top selling cars in the country in the month of April 2022, take a look -


The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R tops the list with 17,766 units to its name, followed by the recently launched 2022 Maruti Suzuki

Ertiga

facelift with 14,889 units sold. The MPV registered a month-on-month (MoM) growth of +89%, since the company sold 7,888 units of the Ertiga in March this year, which means that the facelift has certainly increased its popularity in the market.

The Tata

Nexon

finished third, becoming the best-selling SUV in the Indian market in April, recording a massive +94% year-on-year (Y0Y) growth in sales over the 6,938 units sold in the same month last year. Hyundai Creta followed behind with 12,651 units sold in the said month, 188 units more than April 2021. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza came fifth with 11,764 units sold last month

The 6th to 9th spots were also occupied by Maruti Suzuki cars, namely Eeco, Baleno, Dzire, and Alto, with 11,154, 10,938, 10,701 and 10,443 units sold respectively. However, all of these four cars registered a YoY decline in sales. Last but not the least, the Tata Punch micro SUV finished as the 10th best-selling car in India in April 2022 with 10,132 units sold, 394 units less than the preceding month.
