Tata Sierra axle breaks: Video with 50 kmph claim goes viral
A video circulating on social media claims to show a Tata Sierra with a damaged front wheel, prompting discussion over the SUV’s durability. The vehicle is observed stationary, with visible mechanical damage. Posts accompanying the clip state that the incident occurred at around 50 km/h, though these details have not been independently verified. The sequence of events leading to the damage remains unclear.
The authenticity of the video and the circumstances of the incident have not been confirmed. It is also not known whether external factors, prior damage or road conditions contributed. No official statement has been issued so far. Tata Motors responded to the viral post, stating in the comments that its team has contacted the individual involved and asked them to visit a workshop for inspection and resolution. The company also requested the user to remain in touch with its service team to address the issue.
Recent Tata Sierra accident
Recently, the Sierra was also involved in a road accident in Thane (West), where a woman lost control of the SUV during a test drive near Panchpakhadi, causing it to fall into a construction pit. The vehicle broke through barricades at the site and plunged into the pit from an estimated height of around 20 feet. Three occupants were inside at the time, including the woman driving, a relative and a dealership employee. All three sustained injuries.
The SUV’s airbags deployed during the crash, and its body structure appeared to absorb the impact without major structural collapse. Observations at the scene indicated that the use of high-strength steel helped the vehicle retain its shape, with the cabin showing minimal deformation, which may have limited the severity of injuries.
