NEW DELHI: After months of speculation around whether or not it would happen,
Tata Motors have resurrected their Kite 5 concept and named it 'Tata Tigor'. The company is looking at creating a niche segment with every new car, and hence, they are calling the Tigor a 'styleback'.
The automaker first showcased the Kite concept at the Auto Expo 2016. The sub compact sedan has similar design cues as of Tata's golden boy Tiago.
The Tigor - based on the new 'impact' design pattern - will serve as the sedan sibling of Tiago.
The price range of Tigor is expected to begin from Rs 4 lakh.
"After Hexa, we are speeding towards our next market introduction, the Tata Tigor which opens a new category of style and attitude in this segment. The break-free design dynamics of Tata Tigor makes it India's 1st Styleback," Mayank Pareek, president, passenger vehicle business unit, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Though media reports suggest that the vehicle will be launched in the month of March, Tata Motors did not confirm the date of its commercial launch.
