Nissan to launch new MPV ‘Gravite’ in India in January 2026: Details
Nissan has confirmed that its upcoming MPV for the Indian market will be called the Gravite, with the model scheduled to be unveiled fully in January 2026. The announcement was made alongside the release of teaser images, which offer an early look at the MPV’s exterior design.
The model will share its platform with the Renault Triber but as seen in the teaser images, it will carry a refreshed front fascia, featuring a new grille with the Nissan badge and chrome accents. The headlamps appear to have a revised shape, while the bonnet gets a hood scoop-like element. On the sides, we can expect a refreshed design for the alloy wheels and the addition of functional roof rails.
At the rear, the Gravite will feature redesigned tail-lamps and a reworked bumper. Chrome elements continue at the back as well, and the Gravite name will be spelled out prominently on the tailgate.
Mechanically, the Nissan Gravite is expected to be closely related to the Renault Triber. It will use the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder NA petrol engine, which produces 72 hp and 96 Nm of torque. The engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as an AMT option.
Nissan has indicated that while the Gravite will make its official debut in early 2026, it is expected to be available in dealerships from March 2026. This MPV will play an important role in Nissan’s plans to expand its presence in the mass-market segment in India.
Beyond the Gravite, Nissan has also outlined its future product roadmap for the country. The company has two more models lined up, starting with the Nissan Tekton. The Tekton will be Nissan’s version of the Renault Duster. This model will debut after the Gravite, the company has confirmed.
