Nissan Tekton launch date revealed! Upcoming Duster, Creta rival
Nissan Tekton is finally set to make its India debut on July 9, 2026, as Nissan prepares to strengthen its SUV portfolio in one of the country’s most competitive segments. Once launched, the new SUV will take on established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the recently launched Renault Duster.
The Tekton is expected to play an important role for Nissan in India. The SUV was originally expected to arrive earlier, following the launch of Nissan’s Gravite MPV. However, the latter’s launch had been delayed. Here’s a quick look at what to expect from this upcoming SUV.
In terms of design, the Tekton gets a bold and modern look. At the front, it features a wide grille stretching across the fascia, flanked by slim LED headlamps. A sleek LED light strip connects the lighting elements and adds distinctive C-shaped signatures at both ends. The SUV also gets sharp body lines and an upright stance.
The rear design follows a similar theme with connected LED tail-lamps and a full-width light bar. Nissan has also placed the “Tekton” lettering prominently on both the bonnet and tailgate. Interestingly, the name Tekton is derived from a Greek word that means “craftsman” or “architect”.
While the company has not yet revealed the interior, the SUV is expected to come loaded with features. Expected equipment includes a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Engine details remain under wraps for now. However, the Tekton is expected to be offered with naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol engine options. More details regarding specifications, variants and pricing are likely to be revealed closer to launch.
