Mini Cooper S Victory edition sold out: What makes this hatch special!
Mini India recently launched the new Mini Cooper S Victory edition sporty hatchback in the Indian market. Within 20 days of its launch, the hot hatchback has sold out in the country. The sporty hatchback is priced at Rs 57.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and bookings began right after launch. The hatchback has been brought to India via the CBU route, with the company stating it will be available in limited numbers, though the exact allocation has not been disclosed. In this article, let’s take a look at everything you need to know.
The MINI Cooper S Victory Edition is a limited-run model inspired by the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally-winning Mini Cooper S driven by Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter, with only a few units allocated for India. It is finished in Chilli Red with a white stripe running across the bonnet, roof and rear, along with ‘52’ side graphics and a ‘1965’ badge on the C-pillar. The car also features a black panoramic roof, 18-inch JCW Lap Spoke two-tone alloy wheels and LED lighting with selectable signature modes and animated elements.
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimal layout with a focus on digital controls and recycled materials. It gets JCW sport seats with Vescin Black upholstery, a JCW steering wheel with paddle shifters and ‘1965’ detailing. The dashboard and door panels use textile surfaces, with ambient lighting and projection elements. The car is equipped with a circular OLED touchscreen running MINI Operating System 9, along with voice control, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, remote services and a digital key.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204hp and 300Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It can accelerate from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 242kph. It also gets adaptive suspension and JCW sport brakes. Other features include multiple drive modes, a toggle-based control interface, wireless charging and systems such as cruise control and parking assist. Safety equipment includes airbags, ABS, dynamic stability control and a rear-view camera
