Mahindra XUV 7XO pre-bookings to begin on this date: Changes over XUV700
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the new Mahindra XUV 7XO on January 5, 2026. The XUV 7XO is essentially an updated version of the XUV700, and becomes the brand’s next combustion-engine model to adopt the revised naming convention, following the XUV 3XO, which transformed the XUV300 through a significant redesign.
Ahead of its official debut, the company has announced that it will start accepting pre-bookings from December 15, 2025. Customers can pre-book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 21,000, and deliveries are expected to begin from mid-January. Pricing for the XUV 7XO facelift is likely to see a modest increase over the current XUV700, depending on the additional equipment offered.
Mahindra has already released multiple teasers of the upcoming XUV 7XO, offering quick glimpses of several updated styling cues, a redesigned front grille, sharper tail-lamp elements, and a profile featuring new C-shaped LED headlamps. The teaser also reveals new 7-shaped DRLs that wrap around the headlamp cluster, paired with trapezoidal LED lighting elements. The recently introduced XEV 9S appears to have inspired parts of the overall design. A fresh set of alloy wheels is also expected, though Mahindra hasn’t revealed details yet. While the cabin remains under wraps, it is reasonable to expect the triple-screen layout seen on the XEV 9e and 9S. The SUV is likely to be offered in 5-, 6-, and 7-seat configurations.
In terms of features, the XUV 7XO is expected to carry forward equipment from the XEV 9S such as a new key fob, auto parking, a triple-screen dashboard layout comprising a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch co-driver entertainment screen. Ventilated front and rear seats, electric driver and passenger seats with memory, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, connected-car tech, and more are also expected.
Mechanically, the SUV is likely to remain unchanged with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (197 bhp, 380 Nm) and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel (182 bhp, up to 450 Nm). Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic, while select diesel variants should continue to offer AWD.
