BYD eMax 7 electric MPV launched at Rs 26.90 Lakh: Innova Hycross' EV rival

BYD India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the all-new eMax 7 MPV. Replacing the e6 in the brand’s lineup, the eMax 7 is available in two variants namely, Premium and Superior, with starting prices at Rs 26.90 lakh for the 6-seater Premium and Rs 29.90 lakh for the 7-seater Superior variant.
On the outside, the eMax 7 sports updated LED headlamps, a redesigned front bumper, and sleek LED tail lights.It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and comes in four striking colors: Quartz Blue, Harbour Grey, Crystal White, and Cosmos Black.
The BYD eMax 7 offers two battery pack options: the Premium variant is powered by a 55.4kWh battery delivering a range of up to 420 km, while the Superior variant features a larger 71.8kWh battery with 530 km range. Both variants of the eMax 7 come with a 7kW AC charger as standard and support DC fast charging—up to 89kW for the Premium variant and 115kW for the Superior. The eMax 7 also offers vehicle-to-load charging, which allows users to power external devices.

Inside, the eMax 7 is equipped with a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and a digital driver display. As for safety, it features six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS tech available in the Superior variant. Both variants also come with key features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic climate control etc.
The MPV is backed by an 8-year/1.6 lakh km battery warranty and an 8-year/1.5 lakh km motor warranty. With no direct competitors in the electric MPV segment under Rs 30 lakh, the BYD eMax 7 comes as a greener alternative to popular models like the Toyota Innova Hycross.
