Tata Sierra - Introduction

Tata Motors has finally revealed the new Tata Sierra SUV. Following many teasers and multiple concept reveals at past motor shows, the legendary SUV has been revealed in its production-ready form, offering a clear look at how the revived icon has finally taken shape. This marks the return of the iconic Sierra nameplate, which was discontinued in 2003. Official pricing will be announced on November 25 with expected prices starting from Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Sierra - Design

The new Tata Sierra takes a bold departure from the classic SUV that once ruled the roads in the 2000s. It features bold ‘Sierra’ badging at both ends, a connected LED light bar up front, a textured grille design, and the main LED headlamps are positioned lower down on the fascia. At the same time, vertically stacked fog lamps sit closer to the bumper’s edge.

4/9

Tata Sierra - Side design

From the sides, the Sierra retains its unmistakable identity with the signature Alpine window-inspired design, which is a nod to the original model. However, Tata has reimagined it for the modern era by using a partially blacked-out B-pillar and a contrasting black roof instead of a full glass section. The darkened C-pillar further enhances this effect, creating a sleek floating-roof appearance that blends.

5/9

Tata Sierra - Rear design

At the rear, the connected tail-light, compact overhang and higher-set bumper carry forward the SUV’s boxy design language, preserving the Sierra’s upright stance. Other highlights include blacked-out ORVMs and C-pillars, flush door handles, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, black body cladding around the wheel arches and doors, skid plates and more.

6/9

Tata Sierra - Colour options

The Sierra is offered in six colour options - Bengal Rouge (Red), Andaman Adventure (Yellow), Coorg Clouds (Silver), Munnar Mist (Green), Mintal Grey, Pristine White. Tata is also likely to offer the 2025 Sierra in a Dark Edition variant, bringing a stealthy, all-black treatment.

7/9

Tata Sierra - Interior

Moving inside, the cabin takes inspiration from other Tata models and features a mix of black and grey themes; however, it stands out for its screen-heavy layout. Three displays span the dashboard - a dedicated instrument cluster for the driver and a pair of infotainment screens that can share functions and media between them.

8/9

Tata Sierra - Features, Safety

The SUV also carries over Tata’s latest four-spoke steering wheel from the Curvv, featuring an illuminated logo and touch-based controls. Feature highlights include dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, rear window sunshades, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, connected car tech, ventilated and powered front seats and more.

9/9

Tata Sierra - Powertrain

Talking about the powertrain, the new Tata Sierra is expected to debut Tata’s flagship 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine which was first shown at the Auto Expo 2023. This motor is likely to produce around 170hp and 280Nm, and could be paired with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Tata is also expected to offer a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with the Sierra, though this too remains unconfirmed. This unit would help position the SUV more competitively in terms of pricing. A 1.5-litre diesel engine, currently seen in the Curvv, Altroz and Nexon, is also anticipated to be part of the lineup.
