If you are looking to buy an entry-level supersport motorcycle in India, options such as the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 are likely to be on your shortlist. Both are well-known models in this segment. Here’s a closer look at how these two motorcycles compare in terms of engine specifications, performance, pricing and overall package.
The biggest contrast between the two motorcycles comes from their engines. The RC 390 is powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces about 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Ninja 300, on the other hand, uses a 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that makes roughly 38 hp and about 26 Nm of torque, also mated to a six-speed gearbox.
In the department of features, the RC 390 comes with a full-colour TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity, along with riding modes, a slipper clutch and a quick-shifter.
The Ninja 300 keeps things simpler with a semi-digital instrument cluster, an assist, slipper clutch and heat management tech. Both motorcycles come equipped with disc brakes and dual-channel ABS as standard.
The RC 390 uses USD front forks and a rear monoshock. It also gets larger front brake discs and performance-oriented components. The Ninja 300 uses conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear suspension.
