Aprilia RS 457 launched: Top highlights

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia first showcased the Aprilia 457 at the Indian MotoGP round. The company later finally launched the Aprilia 457 in the Indian market on December 08, 2023. The bookings for the bike opened from December 15 and the deliveries are slated to begin from March 2024. In this article let’s take a look at top highlights of the motorcycle.

The Aprilia RS 457 has been designed and developed at Aprilia’s headquarters in Noale, Italy. The company also said that it has taken developmental inputs from the Indian team. The bike will be built in India at Piaggio’s plant in Baramati. The prices for the Aprilia RS 457 are expected to begin from Rs 4.3 lakh and will compete against the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310 and recently launched Yamaha R3.

The Aprilia RS 457 will be based on an aluminium perimeter frame and suspension duties will be handled by a preload adjustable 41mm USD with 120mm of travel and the preload adjustable mono-shock has 130mm of travel. The bike tops the scale at 175kg with fuel. Talking about the brakes, it gets a single 320mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc with components from ByBre. It gets 110/60 R17 tyres at the front and 150/60 R17 at the rear. The RS 457 is also the first motorcycle to get TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres from the factory.

In terms of features, the bike gets a 5.0-inch TFT display, backlit switchgear, ride-by-wire, three-level traction control and much more. Talking about the powertrain, the bike gets a newly developed 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that puts out 46.7PS at 9400rpm and 43.5Nm at 6700rpm. The engine uses a 270-degree crank and comes paired with a 6-speed transmission.
